Driver Killed, Passenger Injured In Single-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash
A 68-year-old Rockland County man died following a single-vehicle collision on Clausland Mountain Road near Tweed Boulevard in Blauvelt.
The crash occurred around 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, when the Tappan man, driving a 2008 Pontiac G5 northeast on Clausland Mountain Road, veered off the pavement, striking a large rock and an earth embankment on the east side of the roadway, said Capt. Michael Shannon on the Orangetown Police.

Mother From Region Nabbed For Beating Kids With Foam Baseball Bat, Police Say
A Hudson Valley mother has been charged with allegedly beating her two children with a foam baseball bat, causing injuries.
The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:20 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, in Stony Point.
According to Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police, officers responded to Nyack Hospital to investigate a domestic incident.
The investigation revealed that two juveniles revealed that their mother, Kimberly Rivas, age 33, of Stony, had used a foam baseball bat to strike both juveniles several times, causing injuries, Schoales said.

A 71-year-old man was killed in a mountain bike accident at a state park in the Hudson Valley.
The incident occurred in Rockland County around 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, at Tallman Mountain State Park in Orangetown.
According to Trooper Steven Nevel with the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that Alido M. Pavan, of Tenafly, New Jersey, was riding his mountain bike at Tallman State Park when he lost control of his bike, causing him to hit the ground striking his head.
