Notorious ‘Craigslist Killer’ Inmate Suffered ‘Near-Daily’ Sexual Abuse By Parole Agent
A former Institutional Parole Agent assigned to the State Correctional Institution at Muncy carried on a months-long sexual relationship — described in a lawsuit as near-daily sexual abuse — with “Craigslist killer” Miranda Barbour, prosecutors announced on Tuesday, Aug. 5. He was sentenced to 11½ months to two years minus a day in prison. Kenneth E. Jones, 30, of Lewisburg, pleaded guilty in May to 18 felony counts of institutional sexual assault. Judge Ryan M. Macy's Employee Hid Up To $154M In Expenses Since 2021, Company Says
A Macy’s employee misstated up to $154 million in delivery expenses over several years, the company just said. The development forced the retailer to delay its third-quarter earnings report. The employee, whose name has not been released, has been fired. According to the company, the employee responsible for accounting small package delivery expenses made erroneous accrual entries to conceal the costs from the fourth quarter of 2021 through the most recent quarter. Employee Nabbed In Abuse Case At Facility In Hudson Valley
A man from the region has been charged with two counts of allegedly endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person and forcible touching. Following an investigation, Dutchess County resident Garnet G. Collins, age 50, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 11. According to Trooper Aaron Hicks of the New York State Police, Collins was an employee at the Anderson Center for Autism in Staatsburg, a hamlet of Hyde Park. Hicks said the incidents involved two different residents at the center. Both victims were issued orders of protection from the court.…
