Man From Region Nabbed For Assault, Knocking Victim's Teeth Out, Police Say A man from the region was charged with assault after he allegedly broke into a home and knocked a victim's teeth out.  The incident occurred in Sullivan County on Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Town of Thompson. According to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, deputies encountered Xavier Vega, age 30, of Monticello. Prisoner Charged With Violating Protective Order While Behind Bars In Region A man behind bars in the region has been charged again for allegedly violating a protective order. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in Poughkeepsie. According to Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Capt. John Watterson, Brandon Mima, age 21, of Beacon, is accused of violating an order of protection by contacting a protected party via telephone and video.  Watterson said he was charged with an aggravated family offense and two counts of criminal contempt. 39-Year-Old Accused Of Forcing His Way Into Home In Capital Region A Capitol Region man is behind bars after allegedly forcing his way into the home of a person he had a prior relationship with. Columbia County resident David A. Grant Jr., age 39, of Craryville, was charged on Sunday, Oct. 13. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, an investigation determined Grant forced entry into the residence of the victim through a bathroom window and struck the victim.
