Dunkin’ Worker Spots Bogus $50 Bill, Sending Accused Capital Region Counterfeiter Fleeing: Nysp
A Capital Region man was captured after attempting to buy food from Dunkin’ Donuts with a fake $50 bill, police said Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Kashawn K. Miller, 29, of Troy, was also accused of drugged driving and possession of drug paraphernalia, New York State Police said.
Miller was at a Dunkin’ drive-thru in Oneonta, Otsego County, around 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14 when he passed the worker a counterfeit $50 bill as payment, investigators said. The employee was immediately suspicious of the bill and questioned Miller about it, so he fled the scene, according to police.

A Capital Region man tried to destroy evidence before cops arrested him for possessing child sex abuse material, authorities said.
Brandon V. Quintana, 32, of Greenfield, was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 9 for possession and promotion of child porn, along with tampering with evidence, New York State Police said.
Law enforcement searched Quintana’s residence on Thursday, July 30 and found “images consistent with child sexual exploitation,” police said.
During the search, Quintana barricaded himself in a room and attempted to destroy evidence on electronic devices, authorities said.

A Capital Region man was busted with more than 100 grams of cocaine in a traffic stop on the New York State Thruway, police said.
Peter Moore, 39, of Schenectady, was a passenger traveling westbound on I-90 in a 2023 Jeep on Thursday, Sept. 3 when state troopers witnessed a traffic violation around 8:30 p.m. near Exit 25 in Schenectady, New York State Police said.
