Speeding Big Rigs Flips On NY Thruway, Spills Gravel Across Road: Police
A tractor-trailer flipped and spilled gravel across Interstate 87 on- and off-ramps on Tuesday morning, July 14, creating a traffic nightmare.
Evenor Melgar, 56, of Bay Shore, was driving the 2006 Peterbilt vehicle through the Hudson Valley and attempted to enter the New York State Thruway at Exit 20 in Saugerties, New York State Police said.
But instead, Melgar’s vehicle overturned and spilled gravel across the southbound exit and entry ramps, police said.
