A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian before fleeing the scene in Suffolk County, police announced on Friday, June 12. Mario Corvasce, 66, of Holbrook, was standing in the roadway in front of 780 Broadway Ave. when he was hit by a southbound vehicle around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, according to Suffolk County Police.
