Children's safety advocates are warning about a dramatic rise in artificial intelligence-generated images and videos depicting child sexual abuse. The Internet Watch Foundation saw a 380% increase in reports of AI-created child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in 2024 compared to 2023. Police in the region are warning of an automated sex extortion scam that is targeting residents through emails.
