59-Year-Old Man Accused Of Stealing Campaign Signs In Region
A man faces charges after allegedly stealing political campaign signs from a residence in the region, authorities announced. Putnam County resident Lucas Gonze, age 59, of of Cold Spring, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 17 following an incident in Philipstown, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday, Oct. 21. According to authorities, on Thursday at around 3:20 p.m., a resident in the area of Route 9D near Mandalay Drive saw someone take campaign signs. Man Rescued After Crashing 60 Feet Down Into Rocky Embankment In Region
A man had to be carried around 60 feet up a rocky Hudson Valley gorge after crashing into it, authorities said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Oct. 6, when an all-terrain vehicle crashed down a cliff in Cold Spring at the gorge on Mill Road, according to the North Highlands Fire Department. Arriving firefighters soon made their way to the cliff and packaged the man into a stokes basket before carrying him around 60 feet up the ledge to an awaiting ambulance. Duo Nabbed In Jewelry Store Burglaries Targeting Hudson Valley Businesses
Two suspects are behind bars in connection with a string of jewelry store burglaries that targeted businesses in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. In Dutchess County, police were called at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, for a burglary in progress in Beacon at Sky Diamond Jewelers on Main Street. As officers arrived, the suspects were seen driving away from the scene.
