The residents, most from Tally Ho Estates, were concerned that a composting site would have a negative effect on their water, bring an odor to the neighborhood, in addition to dust and traffic, and bring down their property values, said the Millbrook Independent.

The property along Route 22 belongs to Anthony Bulfalmante, who has a landscaping business and proposed to bring yard waste to the site to turn into compost to sell to contractors. The board voted against the measure by 4-1, added the Millbrook Independent.
