Trio Recruits Own Kids To Steal From Nassau County Macy's, Police Say Three people are accused of recruiting their own children to help them steal from a Macy’s store on Long Island. The incident happened in East Garden City, at Roosevelt Field Mall, shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. According to Nassau County Police, a security guard stopped two women and a man who left the store while concealing dozens of items that weren't paid for. The trio were accompanied by three children, ages 3, 10, and 13. Together, the group stole 67 pieces of merchandise by concealing items inside bags and a stroller, police said. Nassau County Police were called to the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream at around 8 a.m. Sunday, July 21, for a burglary at the Macy’s store. Surveillance video captured a man entering the store through an unlocked door before the business opened. He then pried open and damaged four cash registers before stealing an undisclosed amount of money and fleeing on foot. Duo Nabbed After Robbery At Macy's Store On Long Island, Police Say Two men are accused of robbing an employee at a Macy’s store on Long Island. Nassau County Police were called to the Macy’s store in Manhasset, located at 1100 Northern Boulevard, for a robbery at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16. A loss prevention employee told officers that two men stole items before fleeing in a black Kia. On their way out, one of the men was involved in a physical altercation with the worker.
