Capitol Riot: MTA Worker, Wife From NY Participated In Jan. 6 Breach, Feds Say
A husband and wife from New York are the latest to be charged in connection with the breach of the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Long Island residents Kevin Moore, age 61, and Carol Moore, age 57, of Massapequa, are named in a four-count criminal complaint that was filed in US District Court in Washington, DC on Monday, May 13.
According to investigators, the couple attended then-President Donald Trump’s speech at the Ellipse that morning before making their way to the Capitol building. Along the way, Carol Moore was seen draped in a blue Trump flag.

A man from the region has been charged with civil disorder in connection with taking part in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.
Dutchess County resident Christopher Douglas Finney, age 32, of Hopewell Junction, was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges on Thursday, Feb. 8, related to his conduct during the breach of the Capitol.

Comedian, actor, and filmmaker Billy Crystal, who is from New York, was one of five other iconic figures celebrated at the 46th Kennedy Center Honors.
Billy Crystal, known for his roles in movies such as “When Harry Met Sally...” and “City Slickers,” received his honors at the John F. Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, DC in a pre-recorded show that was broadcast on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

ABC News 'This Week' Executive Producer Dies At Age 37
ABC News "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" executive producer Dax Tejera died suddenly on Friday, Dec. 23. He was 37 years old.
Tejera died of a heart attack, Mediaite reports, citing ABC News president Kim Godwin.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica, and their daughters, Sofia and Ella.

Plane That Departed From Westchester County Airport Crashes Into Power Lines, Causing Outages
A single-engine airplane that departed from Westchester County Airport crashed into a transmission tower in Maryland, causing a massive power outage and taking hours for rescuers to reach the two victims inside the plane.
The Mooney M20J, owned by MFC Corporation of Washington, DC, left Westchester County Airport in White Plains, late in the afternoon on Sunday, Nov. 27, and crashed into the wires near Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, Maryland, around 5:40 p.m., said Rick Breitenfeldt of the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Thanksgiving Day incident occurred Thursday, Nov. 24, in Rensselaer County, at the Troy Turkey Trot 10K race in Troy.
