Crash Update: 1 Critical, 1 Stable Following 2-Vehicle Drunk Driving Accident In Region
Two victims of an alleged drunk driving crash who were severely wounded remain in the hospital. The collision occurred in Greene County on Route 23 in Catskill at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. According to Greene County Sheriff's Office Capt. Joel Rowell, responding deputies immediately began life-saving measures on the two seriously injured victims who were ejected from a motorcycle. Wendy’s is gearing up to open a new restaurant in the region. The Ohio-based fast-food chain has its sights set on Greene County, where it will debut a new location in the village of Catskill, according to Village of Catskill Planning Board records. A beloved musician was killed in a crash and subsequent car fire in the region as good Samaritans desperately tried to save him. The Greene County incident happened at around 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, on State Route 9W in Catskill. Three people were killed in a head-on highway crash in the region. The Greene County wreck happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, on Route 23 in the town of Windham. Sheriff’s officials said a Buick SUV was heading eastbound on State Route 23 when it collided with a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck near the intersection of Cross Road. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the most efficient means of escape. A Greene County fisherman found himself in handcuffs after he allegedly attempted to flee from police in a rideshare vehicle. The incident happened Tuesday, July 2, along Catskill Creek in the town of Durham. Alert Issued For 16-Year-Old Capital Region Girl Missing 3 Days
Police are asking for help in locating a 16-year-old girl from the region who has been missing for several days. Greene County resident DeAnna Cilento was last seen at a home in Prattsville on Sunday, June 30, according to sheriff’s officials. Investigators said Cilento may have traveled to Delaware County or Brooklyn. She is 5-foot-10 and around 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Man Accused Of Beating Victim To Death In Hudson Valley
A resident in the region faces 25 years in state prison after being found guilty by a jury for beating another man to death. Ulster County resident Joseph Karolys, age 39, of Saugerties, was convicted on Friday, June 14, of manslaughter, assault, and tampering with physical evidence following a two-week jury trial for the death of David "Mickey" Myer, age 66, also of Saugerties, on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. A woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal one-car rollover crash in the region. It happened around 6:40 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Greene County, in the village of Catskill, on I-87. Fatal Crash: 38-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Single-Vehicle Capital Region Wreck
One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in the region. The Greene County wreck happened at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, on State Route 23 in the town of Windham. New York State Police said 38-year-old Adam Kingsley, of Hunter, was driving a Toyota westbound on State Route 23 when he went off the roadway and struck a tree. Kingsley, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved and there were no other reports of injuries. A water park in the region will have to pay nearly $40,000 in fines for violating federal child labor laws with dozens of teenage employees. A man was arrested on Long Island after he allegedly drove drunk, crashing into two parked police cars. It happened on Monday, Feb. 12 in Valley Stream, according to Nassau County Police. A woman has died after being struck by a pickup truck outside an apartment complex in the region. The Greene County incident happened at around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Coxsackie at the Peppertree Apartments. According to sheriff’s officials, a 66-year-old New Baltimore man was using a pickup truck to plow snow in the building’s parking lot when he struck a woman while backing up.
