A recall has been issued for multiple brands of eye ointment products due to the "lack of sterility assurance at the facility" of the manufacturer during an inspection conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). "For those patients who use these products, there is a potential risk of eye infections or related harm," the FDA said. "These products are intended to be sterile. CVS Harmed Safety Net Hospitals, Diverted Millions From Underserved NY Communities, AG Says
The New York State attorney general is suing CVS Health for an alleged scheme to force health care providers to incur millions in additional costs and divert funds away from underserved communities.
