Mahopac Girl Scouts, High School Counselors Rescue Roses MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Mahopac Girl Scout Troop 1286 and Mahopac High School counselors recently teamed up to do a fall cleanup of the high school's gardens.  Marianne Callagy and Julie Cummins joined forces with 10 Mahopac Middle School scouts on a Saturday morning to rake leaves, pull weeds and spread mulch.  This ongoing project will help maintain retired social worker Chip Kennard's gardens, which surround the school campus.

Stamford Police Youth Bureau Makes 11 Arrests STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Police Youth Bureau has made 11 arrests in four separate incidents within the last week. The bureau arrested five Stamford youths who were involved in an Oct. 19 knifepoint robbery at the skate park at Scalzi Park. The five youths surrounded two juveniles and brandished a knife, according to police. At that point several youths assaulted the victims and stole several items from them, police said.  One victim sustained a severe chipped tooth in the attack, according to police reports. High-Speed Chase Through Rockland Ends In Arrest ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A murder suspect was arrested Monday in New Jersey after he led police on a high-speed chase in Rockland County, according to a report on lohud.com. Police arrested Troy, N.Y., resident David Campos after officers from several jurisdictions chase him down the Palisades Interstate Parkway at speeds reaching almost 90 mph, lohudreported.  Campos was eventually arrested at a toll plaza on the New Jersey Turnpike near Secaucus, according to lohud. Water Main Break Creates Morning Gridlock On I-87 In Rockland ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Early morning commuters were stuck Tuesday in a traffic jam on the New York State Thruway just before the Tappan Zee Bridge in Rockland County, according to multiple reports. A water main break and an auto accident about 6:30 a.m. blocked the southbound lanes of the Interstate 87, lohud reported.
