WYCKOFF, N.J. -- A father and son team of authors from Wyckoff are getting notice with a series of Revolutionary War adventure stories for teens. What makes Bob and Rob Skead different is that dad is 90 years old. Bob Skead turned 90 January 26, and is looking forward to the next book. What makes the partnership even more remarkable is that Bob was never a writer. They started working together about six years ago, after Rob described an idea he had for a different kind of work. FORT LEE, N.J. -- Violeta Velickaite of Violet’s Florist located on the corner of Main and John Streets in Fort Lee promises that if you stop by Wednesday, Feb. 10, the whole store will be full of roses. Flowers in the shop come from countries all over the world, but most of the roses are from Ecuador. And roses, Velickaite says, are what people want for Valentine’s Day. Leonia Lady Lions Swimmers Compete In State Sectional
LEONIA, N.J. -- The Leonia Lady Lions Swim Team will compete in the state tournament Monday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Caldwell Community Center. The team will go up against West Essex Regional. The Lady Lions, for the first time in Leonia High School swim team history, won the League Conference Saturday, Feb. 6 by beating Secaucus, Lyndhurst, Garfield, Rutherford, Immaculate Conception and Hasbrouck Heights schools.

Capital Improvments Named On Hackensack Manager's Progress Report
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- City Manager David Troast has issued his report on Hackensack accomplishments for the prior year. Among the items he reported are capital improvement projects throughout the city. They include the Atlantic Street Park, Pulaski Park, and energy upgrades to Fire Department Headquarters and operational upgrades to Fire House No. 2. A bill to establish a criminal firearms recovery clearinghouse in New Jersey was released by the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee Thursday. Dumont Wrestling Team Honors Alumini, Coaches At Senior Night
DUMONT, N.J. -- Dumont High School's wrestling team invites wrestling alumni and coaches to senior night Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the new gym. The seniors will be honored for their years of service to DHS wrestling. Ian Tolotti will also be honored for his 100th match win, along with breaking the school record for the most wins in a career. County Officials Recognize Black History Month In Hackensack
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Bergen County officials will celebrate Black History Month in a program at the Bergen County Administration Building in Hackensack Thursday, Feb. 18.
