The nephew called from the commercial building off Union Avenue in Haskell just after noon Tuesday, Capt. Kenneth Fackina said.
A perimeter was established in the heavily wooded area and a Passaic County sheriff’s K9 unit searched the area with no luck, Fackina said. Bloomingdale police also assisted he said.
Three hours later, the man was found "in good physical condition."
The Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad took him to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation.
"While there was a heavy police presence in the area for some time, traffic was not disrupted," Fackina said.
