A family’s desperate search overseas has ended in heartbreak.
James "Weston" Higginbotham, a 20-year-old Auburn University student from Hoover, Alabama, was found dead in a mountainous area outside Kyoto, Japan, multiple reports said Saturday, June 6.

A 28-year-old man died after being caught in a rip current off a Long Beach Island beach, authorities said.
Police, firefighters, and EMS crews responded to East 21st Street in Ship Bottom at approximately 2:28 p.m. on Friday, June 5, after receiving reports that four people were caught in a rip current, according to the Ship Bottom Police Department.
Three of the four people had already made it safely to shore when first responders arrived, police said.

Patrol officers stopped a gray Honda Accord at approximately 10:49 a.m. on Friday, June 5, according to Saddle Brook Police Chief John A. Zotollo Jr.
Further investigation revealed all three occupants were in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, the chief said.
