A tractor-trailer hauling M&M candy crashed on Route 80 in Warren County, spilling its cargo across the roadway, authorities said. At 10:17 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, Knowlton Township Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a two-tractor-trailer collision in the westbound lanes near the 2-mile marker, the department said. Crash Closes Two Lanes On Route 80 In Paterson, Officials Say
A crash on Route 80 in Paterson shut down two lanes during the Thursday morning, Aug. 28, commute, officials said. As of 9:32 a.m., the crash was reported in the eastbound lanes, east of Exit 58, Madison Avenue, according to transportation officials. Two left lanes of the four-lane highway were closed. Troopers responded to the crash in the westbound lanes of the highway in Wayne at approximately 10:51 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. A 66-year-old Hackensack man died in a crash on Route 80 in Bergen County on Friday, Nov. 15, police said. Wayne Duncan was heading west when his Lexus veered off the roadway to the right and struck the guardrail at milepost 61.4 in Elmwood Park around 12:51 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The vehicle then crossed all lanes and collided with the center concrete barrier. As a result of the crash, Duncan succumbed to his injuries. Two separate crashes closed multiple lanes of Route 80 during rush hour Tuesday evening, Nov. 4. One crash took out two right lanes on the westbound side around 4:50 east of Exit 56 in West Paterson, the DOT site shows. The other happened around the same time in the eastbound lanes west of Exit 52 in Fairfield. Two right lanes were also closed. Both crashes caused a delay of approximately 10 minutes.

Driver, 19, Killed In Route 80 Crash
A 19-year-old driver was killed in an early-morning Route 80 crash when he rear-ended a box truck stopped in the shoulder, authorities said. Cameron Ray, of Flanders, was heading west in a Subrau when he rear-ended the truck near milepost 38.2 in Denville around 5:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. Ray died as a result of the crash while the box truck driver suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
