$12M Bridge Work To Close Portions Of Route 280: Here's Where
Drivers heading across the Passaic River on Route 280 between Morris and Essex counties should expect overnight delays next week as a major $12 million construction project gets underway, officials said. Beginning 10 p.m. Monday, July 21, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, crews will close lanes in both directions on I-280 between East Hanover and Roseland. Nightly closures will continue through Thursday, July 24, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. At least one lane will remain open in each direction. Passenger, 24, Killed In Crash Off NJ Highway: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash in West Orange on Tuesday, Oct. 29, authorities said. First responders arrived at Pleasant Valley Way and Belle Terre Road near the Route 280 ramp at 11:59 p.m. and saw multiple injuries at the scene, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and Joe Fagan, the public information officer for the city of West Orange said. Floribel Hiciano was sitting in the rear of one of the two cars at the time of the crash, authorities said. She was taken to University Hospital where she died, authorities said. Motorcyclist Killed After Being Ejected, Run Over In Route 280 Crash: Police (

A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning crash on Route 280 in Hudson County, police said. Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Silas was ejected then run over by a Dodge, Lebron said. He died as a result of the accident.
