Overturned Dump Truck Snarls Route 23 Traffic In West Milford An overturned dump truck backed up traffic in both directions on Route 23 in West Milford Township late Friday morning, July 25, authorities said. The crash happened just before 11:48 a.m. near Old Ridge Road, according to the NJDOT site. All northbound lanes remained open, but the right lane and shoulder were closed southbound as of 12:25 p.m. Drivers were urged to expect delays as crews worked to clear the scene. No word yet on injuries or what caused the truck to overturn. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Fleeing Driver Hits Officer, Arrested At Wayne Costco: Police A 27-year-old Denville man was arrested and charged after he struck a police officer while fleeing on Sunday, Oct. 20, authorities said. While officers were conducting a traffic stop on Indian Road, it was discovered the driver, Liam Harrigan, had an active NCIC Warrant out of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Denville police said. As officers attempted to take Harrigan into custody, he fled from them in his vehicle, police said. Police were called to 6 Cambridge Road in Pompton Lakes around 2:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, after residents reported three men entered their house and then stole their 2023 BMW M8 Gran Coupe from their driveway, police said. Morris County Man Struck, Killed By Car In West Milford A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in West Milford, authorities said. Mod A. Khader, of Lincoln Park, was trying to cross Route 23 south when he was struck by a vehicle around 6 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said. Khader was taken to Chilton Hospital where he died at 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck Khader remained at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
