A veteran Long Island police officer, along with two others, formally confessed to running multiple brothels over a span of four years.
George Trimigliozzi, 56, of Islip, pleaded guilty to corruption, promoting prostitution, and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Sept. 15. Trimigliozzi is a veteran Suffolk County police officer.
Frank Saggio, 61, of West Islip; and Dana Ciardullo, 33, of North Bellmore also admitted their roles in a prostitution enterprise that operated out of locations in Holbrook and West Babylon between 2019 and 2024.

Four Secaucus town employees were arrested after allegedly running a private pool business using stolen chemicals, town property, and taxpayer-funded hours, authorities said.
The employees — John T. Schwartz, 61, Frank N. Flanagan, 32, Joseph Ferrara, 27, and Megan R. Wofsy-Flanagan, 31, all of Secaucus — were charged following a three-month investigation into their company, Crystal Clear Pool and Spa Management, according to the Secaucus Police Department.

A retired US Navy admiral who once commanded operations across Europe, Russia, and Africa is now facing prison time after being found guilty in a federal bribery case, officials announced.
Admiral Robert Burke, 62, of Coconut Creek, FL, was convicted on Monday, May 19, in Washington, DC, after a five-day trial, the US Attorney’s Office said.
Federal prosecutors say Burke abused his rank as a four-star admiral to steer a $355,000 Navy contract to a private company in exchange for a $500,000-a-year job with stock options after he retired.
