A 59-year-old man was arrested on child endangerment and sex offense charges following an incident at a North Jersey library, authorities announced Thursday, Feb. 12.
Rolando Carballo, of East Newark, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 6, on a warrant complaint stemming from an investigation conducted by Detective Estefania Castaneda, Kearny police said. A Wisconsin man has been charged with sexually extorting a child under the age of 13 in New Jersey, authorities announced.
Christopher Battin, 34, of Milwaukee, was arrested Tuesday, July 22, by the United States Marshals Service in Wisconsin, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
The investigation began on March 7, when North Arlington police contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit. They reported that a child under 13 was being contacted online by a stranger, Musella said.

Two New York men wanted in separate violent crimes were tracked down last month in Bergen County, thanks to the county's newly-launched Crime Suppression Team, authorities said.
The first arrest was made on Saturday, Dec. 21, when members of the team identified 51-year-old Randolph R. Smith of Far Rockaway, NY, who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in New York City, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Smith was spotted in the Ramsey area, and when confronted by the Crime Suppression Team, he provided a false name to investigators, Musella said.
