Teen Football Player Airlifted After Losing Feeling In Legs In Sussex County, Police Say
A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. At 8:11 p.m., the boy was playing football at Station Park in Sparta Township when he temporarily lost feeling in his legs, Sparta Township Police Captain Thomas Snyder said. An Atlantic Air helicopter transported the boy to Morristown Medical Center, Snyder said. The young athlete regained feeling in both legs before the helicopter arrived, but was still hospitalized for for further evaluation, Snyder said.

A 46-year-old Pennsylvania man was rescued after he fell 25 feet from the roof of a building in Fairfield, NJ on Friday, Sept. 20, authorities said (scroll for video). An 11-year-old boy impaled by a stick in Wayne was rescued by his school's resource officer and firefighters using a stokes basket on Monday afternoon, Sept. 16, police said. The boy and other students from Anthony Wayne Middle School were taking a shortcut home through the woods, which required sliding down a steep hill, Wayne Police Capt. Daniel Daly said. A 24-year-old Queens, NY man is facing charges for a crash on Route 4 that left multiple people seriously injured Sunday night, Sept. 16. Emelio S. Lutchmansingh was heading east in the westbound lanes, in a 2004 BMW M3, when he struck a 2020 Jeep Compass head-on at River Road around 11:15 p.m., Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Pedestrian Struck, Seriously Injured On Garden State Parkway
A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a camper on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The Ford E350 Camper was heading south when it struck the unidentified pedestrian walking in the roadway at milepost 145.2 in Irvington around 8:05 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
