NJ Restaurant Owner Wrongfully Detained By ICE, Mayor Says
Ruperto Marquez, the co-owner and chef at Emilio's Kitchen in Atlantic Highlands has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement since last month, authorities said.
Marquez was taken into custody by ICE agents on Sunday, Oct. 19 in front of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Mayor Lori Hohenleitner said.
The father of three, who runs the restaurant with his brother, Emilio, was wrongfully detained, Hohenleitner said.

A 17-year-old has been charged in the stabbing death of a 15-year-old boy at a party attended by 100 teenagers on Long Island, authorities said.
Liam Delemo, of West Babylon, was stabbed at the Carlton Road and Avenue C party in West Babylon around 10:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, when a fight broke out outside the residence, Suffolk County Police said.
Liam was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Thomas Armando Luque, a 19-year-old from North Arlington remembered for his warmth and kindness, died on Saturday, Oct. 18, according to his obituary from the Alvarez Funeral Home.
Loved ones described Thomas as “a beloved brother, son, and friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”

NJ Native, St. John's Student Dies Suddenly In Queens
Family and friends are mourning the loss of Giovani Amores, an 18-year-old New Jersey native remembered for his kindness, confidence, and joy.
Amores passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 16, in Queens, NY, according to his obituary posted on the Fanwood Memorial Funeral Home website. A cause of death was not immediately clear.
Born in Hoboken, Giovani grew up in Jersey City and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School earlier this year. In August, he began his freshman year at St. John’s University, where he was “filled with excitement and ambition for the future,” his obituary said.

Brian Benson, of Scotch Plains, died in a car crash on Wednesday, Sept. 17, according to his obituary from Memorial Funeral Home. He was 46 years old.
