Passaic County is seeing red for the first time since 1992. The reliably Democrat county voted for President-elect Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris, 95,620 votes to 89,086 votes, 50% to 46.6%. It was the first time Passaic County had voted a Republican for president since 1992 and the first time a Republican got 50% of the vote since George H.W. Bush in 1988. Juel Martinez, a Clifton High School student, died on Sunday, Oct. 6 after a nearly-year-long battle with cancer, a GoFundMe campaign launched for his family says. He was 15 years old. Jennifer Lucas, the principal of a Clifton elementary school, died on Monday, Oct. 7, school officials said. Acting Superintendent Mark Gengaro announced Lucas' death in a letter to families. A child was injured in a crash early Sunday morning, Oct. 6 on Route 3 in Rutherford, police said.
