A victim was hospitalized after a serious dog attack on Wednesday morning, May 27 in Sussex County, authorities said. Troopers were called to Essex Road in Wantage at approximately 6:48 a.m., according to NJSP Sgt. II Christopher Postorino. Initial and unconfirmed reports indicate the victim was airlifted from the Sussex County Airport to an area hospital after suffering dog bite injuries, including possible dismemberment. New Jersey State Police are asking for the public’s help after multiple dogs were found abandoned across Sussex County Monday night, March 16. Troopers from Troop “B” Sussex Station responded at approximately 7:30 p.m. to reports of abandoned dogs on County Route 619 in Stillwater, Meadows Road in Lafayette Township, and Clark Road in Wantage Township, New Jersey State Police said.
