A Paterson man remains at large after he ran from police confronting him and his girlfriend, spoiling their plan to steal an ATV in Lyndhurst, police said. Lyndhurst Police Sgt. William Kapp was on patrol on Disposal Road, which rests adjacent to the DeKorte Park complex, when he came across an older model Ford pickup truck on Sunday, Sept. 8, Detective Lt. Passaic County 7-Eleven Sells $1.7M Jersey Cash 5 Winner
A lottery ticket good for just over $1.7 million was sold at a Passaic County 7-Eleven. The ticket from the Wednesday, Sept. 11 Jersey Cash 5 drawing was sold at the convenience store at 218 Pompton Turnpike in Little Falls. The prize was $1,704,450. The winning numbers were: 09, 13, 18, 36 and 44 and the XTRA number was: 02. The Bullseye number was 09. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for the winning ticket sold.

'Gas Station Heroin' Killed Toms River Man, Family Says In Lawsuit
The family of a Toms River man has filed a lawsuit claiming he was killed by a supplement known by many as "gas station heroin." The suit, filed on Thursday, Sept. 5 by the family of 32-year-old Matthew Cornier, names Neptune Resources, LLC; Super Chill CBD Products; and Hometown Market. Philadelphia-based law firm Feldman Shepherd announced the legal action in a news release on Thursday, Sept. 12. A 28-year-old Jersey City man was extradited from Colombia to the United States on Wednesday, Sept. 11, and charged with murdering a woman in Kearny in 2023, authorities said. Leiner Miranda Lopez had previously been charged with killing Luz Hernandez, a 33-year-old Jersey City mom in February 2023, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Police have identified the 29-year-old driver killed in an early-morning crash Tuesday, Sept. 3. Gregory B.
