Santa Claus Spots Fire During Christmas Tour Through NJ Town Santa Claus was "on-the-job" early on Saturday.  Along with his crew on Ladder 12-6 of Reliance Fire Company, Santa spotted smoke coming from the eaves of a three-story single-family house, the company reported on Facebook. The fire was spotted about 4:30 p.m., while Santa was being escorted through Pilesgrove, while traveling down Auburn Road, officials said.  Ladder 12-6 "immediately went into service evacuating the occupants who were unaware of the fire," officials wrote.
