South Jersey Man In Fatal Police Shooting Identified A man shot and killed in a confrontation with police in South Jersey was identified as a lifelong Millville resident who served in the Iraq War. Officers responding to a 911 call encountered Daniel Ackley, 33, outside his family's Burns Road home in Millville shortly after 9:30 p.m. last Tuesday, Acting State Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. "After officers arrived, they encountered Mr. Ackley holding a machete outside the house," Bruck said. Fatal Police Shooting Reported In South Jersey A man was shot and killed in a confrontation with police in Millville, authorities confirmed Wednesday. Officers responding to a 911 call for an emergency at a Burns Road home encountered the man outside the Cumberland County house, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. Bruck continued: "During the encounter, one officer discharged his service weapon, fatally wounding the man. Shooting Investigated In South Jersey Shooting Investigated In South Jersey
Shooting Investigated In South Jersey Authorities are investigating a shooting in South Jersey. The shooting occurred before 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Burns Road in Millville,  according to Millville police. The victim, who reportedly was shot in the stomach, was airlifted to an area hospital, initial reports said. Millville police referred questions to the state Attorney General's Office. The Attorney General later confirmed it was an officer-involved shooting and that the victim was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital at 10:56 p.m.
