NJ Town's Mayor Charged In High School Parking Lot Incident The mayor of one New Jersey town is facing weapons offenses for an incident that happened in a high school parking lot, police said. Linwood police released a statement saying only that Erland V. Chau, 72, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose stemming from an incident in the Mainland Regional High School on Oct. 1.  Chau is the mayor of Northfield. 3 Juveniles Tracked To Social Media Threats That Closed Deptford, Woodbury Schools, Cops Say Three juveniles from Gloucester County were in custody on Monday, Sept. 9 in connection with social media threats made against "numerous" South Jersey schools, authorities said. Schools in Deptford and Woodbury were closed on Monday, Sept. 9 due to the threats, which turned out to be unfounded.
