A Lower Township mother will spend several years in prison after admitting to drinking more than a dozen miniature vodka bottles before her infant son suffocated in bed, authorities said. Michelle Stanton, 29, was sentenced to four years in state prison, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release on Thursday, Nov. 21. West Nile, EEE Detected In Eight Mosquito Groups In South Jersey
Cape May County leaders are issuing a warning after eight mosquito groups tested positive for West Nile virus and eastern equine encephalitis. Seven mosquito collections tested positive for West Nile and EEE was detected in another during June and July, the Cape May County Department of Health said in a news release on Monday, July 22. Erratic Jet Ski Operator Fled Marine Units At NJ Beach, Cops Say — Now They Want To Find Him
A jet ski operator who jetted away from police when they stopped him on Memorial Day Weekend is now being sought by authorities, who are enlisting the public to help. New Jersey State Police Marine Units stopped the operator of an erratic blue Yamaha around 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 at the bathing beach in Lower Township in Cape May County, the department said. During the stop, the operator failed to provide his ID and vessel registration, returned to the shore, and then left on foot.
