A taxi driver from Eatontown was found shot dead outside a Hazlet motel, authorities said. Anthony Hill, 42, was found dead on Saturday, Sept. 14, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The officer was recovering at a hospital, the New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association posted on Twitter at 8:21 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6. Gunshots were fired in Franklin Township on the early morning of Sunday, Sept. 1, authorities said. At 1:15 a.m., Franklin Township Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting gunshots heard in the area of Franklin Boulevard, between Matilda Avenue and Baier Avenue, officers said. A large boat caught fire at a marina in Wildwood, according to reports and social media posts.
