A 9-year-old boy was among three people hospitalized when a taxi drove up onto the sidewalk and plowed into six pedestrians on Christmas Day in New York City, the NYPD says. The 58-year-old male taxi cab driver was heading north when his vehicle went onto the sidewalk at 34th Street and struck the six people just before 4 p.m., a spokesperson for the NYPD said. Among those injured were a 9-year-old boy who suffered a cut on his right thigh, a 19-year-old female, a 37-year-old female, a 41-year-old female, and two 49-year-old women, one of whom suffered a leg injury. Two Men Sexually Assaulted Underage Victims In Wildwood, Prosecutors Say
Two Wildwood men were accused of sexually assaulting two children, authorities said. Arisandro Estrada-Tapia, 20, and Israel Estrada-Tapia, 18, were arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release. Prosecutors didn't immediately say if the two men were relatives but both had addresses on the same block of Baker Avenue. A 29-year-old Brazilian man was arrested and charged on Monday, Dec. 23 with threatening to extort a New Jersey company using stolen data, authorities said. In March 2020, Junior Barros De Oliveira gained unauthorized access and exceeded authorized access to the computer systems of an unnamed Brazilian subsidiary of a New Jersey company, US Attorney Phillip Sellinger said. Trenton Man Dies In Shooting, Investigation Underway: Police
Police were investigating after a man was shot and killed in Trenton, authorities said. Shakeem Lemach Davis of Trenton died in the shooting on Sunday, Dec. 22, Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta Marbrey said in a news release. An age wasn't given for Davis. Officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 100 block of South Cook Avenue at around 5:51 p.m. Davis appeared to have been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. A multimillion-dollar waterfront home was destroyed by a fire on Long Beach Island, according to reports. Officers responded to the scene at around 4:18 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, the Long Beach Township Police Department said in a news release. Man, 75, Standing By Disabled SUV Killed In South Jersey Crash: Troopers
A Buena man was struck by a pickup and killed while standing next to his disabled SUV in Deerfield Township, authorities said. Marvin Saunders, 75, died in the crash on Thursday, Dec. 19, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the scene on Big Oak Road at approximately 6:35 p.m. Investigators said Saunders stood next to his disabled Nissan Pathfinder, which was in the eastbound lane. A Ford F-150 traveling east hit Saunders and his Nissan. Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The crash remained under investigation.
