Married Couple Killed After Car Slips, Hits Levittown Utility Pole: Police A slippery Sunday evening turned deadly for a married couple whose car slid off the road and struck a utility pole in Levittown, Nassau County police said. The crash occurred on Loring Road at 5:30 p.m., according to investigators. An 89-year-old man was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus southbound with his 88-year-old wife when the vehicle veered off the roadway during snowy conditions and slammed into the pole, detectives said.
