Influential US Sen. Chris Murphy, 53, Suffers Stroke US Sen. Chris Murphy was hospitalized after a medical emergency, and his office shared an encouraging update on his condition. The 53-year-old Connecticut Democrat suffered a stroke Saturday, Oct. 31, after experiencing arm numbness while attending his son’s hockey game, his chief of staff, Allison Herwitt, said in a statement.
