Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For 10 NJ Counties, NWS Warns
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for 10 New Jersey counties through 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, as damaging storms threaten to slam the region with hail, wind, and lightning, according to the National Weather Service.
The counties under watch include:
Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem.
The Storm Prediction Center says conditions are right for frequent lightning, heavy downpours, and wind gusts strong enough to cause property damage and power outages.

A 62-year-old Morristown man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Tuesday, June 10, authorities said.
At 8:16 p.m., officers responded to a report of a drunk driver, locating him on Route 46 near Franklin Road, Denville police said. Ronald Roccasecca, the driver, was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was found to be in possession of a billy club, police said.
Roccasecca was arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, driving while intoxicated, driving vehicle without an interlock device, reckless driving and other traffic offenses.
NJ Volvo Dealership Employee Stole 3 Cars: Police
A 30-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, June 18, with stealing three cars from a Volvo dealership in Summit where he worked, authorities said.
Henrri Bonilla was an employee at Smythe Volvo at 40 River Rd. and used his access to key fobs to steal three vehicles over the course of eight weeks, Summit police said.
