Officers with the Mahwah Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, Mahwah Police Capt. Guido Bussinelli said in a release issued Wednesday, May 7.

A 34-year-old Newark man was convicted on Friday, April 4 of stabbing a man in East Orange 10 times, authorities said.
On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, Dwayne Barbour waited for Daren Brooks, 31, with a knife at an address in East Orange and ambushed him upon arrival, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. Brooks ran down the street to escape the attack and the defendant followed, stabbing him over 10 times, Stephens said.

A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed in Newark on Saturday, March 29, authorities said.
At 9:42 p.m., police responded to Vailsburg Terrace and Linden Avenue and found a woman stabbed by a man she knows, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, while the man was arrested at the scene, Miranda said.
The man, who was not identified by police, is charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault and multiple weapons offenses, Miranda said.
