Woman, 20, Dies After Truck Hit Her While Crossing South Jersey Road: Police
A Franklin Township woman died a few days after she was struck while crossing a road in Malaga, authorities said. Elishama Louis, 20, died from her injuries on Monday, Oct. 14, the Franklin Township Police Department said in a news release. She was hit on Delsea Drive near the Riggins and Wawa gas stations on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Prosecutor's Office Sergeant Killed In Bridgeton Home Invasion: 'Truly Devastating'
A Cumberland County detective was shot and killed during a home invasion in Bridgeton, authorities said. Sgt. Monica Mosley, 51, died late at night on Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Bridgeton Police Department said in a news release. She was a member of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. Bridgeton police were called to a report of several people kicking in the door of a home on the 600 block of Buckshutem Road at approximately 10:30 p.m. Officers found Sgt. Two people were hospitalized after a stabbing and a house fire in Bridgeton, authorities said. Bridgeton police responded to a 27-year-old man who arrived at Inspira Hospital on the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 5, the department said in a news release. Officers learned the man was an assault victim suffering from "non-life-threatening" stab wounds. Investigators said the stabbing happened in a home on the 100 block of Oak Street. Police have identified the 19-year-old swimmer who drowned in a New Jersey lake over the weekend. Daniel Miranda, of San Marcos, Guatemala, was taken to Inspira Hospital in Mullica Hill, where he was pronounced dead, Elk Township police said.
