Severe Thunderstorms Possible In South Passaic Wednesday

The National Weather Service is reporting a chance of severe thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon in Bergen and Passaic counties as temperatures rise to possibly record highs in the 70s.

The main threat of thunderstorms, which could bring damaging wind gusts, will be from mid-afternoon through mid-evening on Wednesday.

Until then, on Tuesday, temperatures are in the 40s, with rain moving in later in the day.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 50. It will be breezy, with winds 15 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 31 mph.

Friday will be cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow and a high near 38.
