Disabled Secaucus Train Causes 90-Minute Delay For All Penn Station NY Trains
People packed themselves into NY Penn Station Tuesday, Aug. 23 due to a disabled train in Secaucus. The disabled train, caused by overhead wire issues, led to a nearly 90-minute delay around 7:55 p.m., NJ Transit said on Twitter. One train into Trenton was 2 hours and 20 minutes behind schedule. 65 Cars Involved In Icy Crashes On Major NJ Roadway
At least 65 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes on a major ice-covered road in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crashes were blamed on black ice which often forms at dawn and dusk, according to the Monmouth County sheriff. The first chain-reaction crash occurred at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday on Route 36 westbound at the Route 18 ramp, according to Eatontown police. Jersey Shore Pedestrian Struck, Killed Walking On Garden State Parkway, State Police Say
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Toyota Friday afternoon while walking on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred at 2:12 p.m. in a northbound lane of the parkway in Toms River, according to a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. The parkway experienced heavy traffic delays in both directions as state troopers investigated the crash scene, reports said. Traffic crawled on the Garden State Parkway in Essex County Thursday morning due to a major crash. Dump Truck Driver Hospitalized After Crashing Through Route 287 Barrier Into Backyard
A dump truck driver was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries after crashing through a sound barrier wall on Route 287 and into the backyard of a Bridgewater home Thursday afternoon, New Jersey State Police said. The right lane of the northbound side of the highway was closed after the 1:25 p.m. crash near milepost 17.6, Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. The driver lost control before he went through the wall and into the backyard of a Woodlawn Avenue home, Peele said. No other injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation. Major NJ Highway Closing This Weekend For Repairs
Route 202 will be closed in both directions this weekend for drainage pipe replacement in Hunterdon County. Both southbound lanes and one right northbound lane will be closed approximately one mile north of ramp Route 29, from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Sunday, New Jersey's transportation department said. Southbound traffic will get by in the southbound shoulder, while one right lane will be open for northbound traffic. Bus, Tractor-Trailer Crash On Route 80 In Blairstown
Six or seven people sustained minor injuries in a crash involving a passenger bus and tractor trailer on the eastbound side of Route 80 Tuesday morning, authorities said. The crash near mile marker 8.9 shattered the bus window and sent two or three people to a local hospital with minor injuries around 5:30 a.m., initial reports say. The eastbound side of Route 80 Wednesday morning due to an overturned tractor trailer on the eastbound side of Route 80 in Roxbury.
