: Fast-Moving Blaze Destroys Lodi Commercial Building
Fire destroyed a Lodi commercial building Thursday night. The general-alarm blaze broke out shortly before 9 p.m. in the kitchen of a small building next to the one that housed the JDM School Uniform company and CCS Car Care Specialties on Main Street, Fire Chief Steven Cassiello said. Flames quickly spread and soon blew through the roof of the uniform store. A dog who apparently belonged to the woman who owned the defunct business next door reportedly died in the fire. A neighbor said the store had closed about two weeks ago and the owner may have been living there. At the Lodi fire …

Police: Jaywalking Wood-Ridge Pedestrian, 72, Struck In Hackensack
A 72-year-old Wood-Ridge man struck by a vehicle while jaywalking Thursday morning in Hackensack, authorities said. The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with minor injuries after being struck shortly before 8:30 a.m. while crossing Atlantic Street near Main Street, police Capt. Nicole Foley said. The 63-year-old 1999 Honda driver from Hackensack remained at the scene, the captain said. The fault was "assigned to the pedestrian," she said.

Cousin Vinny's in Wood-Ridge has closed. The Italian restaurant opened last June, replacing Angeloni's Restaurant & Pizzeria on Valley Boulevard. Cousin Vinny's officially shuttered Sunday, Dec. 1. The 3,600-square-foot building is listed with Delaney Restaurant Realty and has an asking price of $1.25 million.

Scrap Metal Company Owner From Allendale Gets Time In Fed Pen For Multi-Million Fraud Scheme
A scrap metal company owner from Allendale was sentenced Wednesday to 33 months in federal prison for conning customers out of several million dollars over nearly two decades. Craig Cinelli, 49, a Cinelli Iron & Metal Co. (CIMCO) minority owner who hails from Wood-Ridge, must serve nearly all of the sentence. There's no parole in the federal prison system. A 19-year-old Wood-Ridge man collected 600 child porn images from the Dark Web, authorities charged. Jha Harezod remained held Friday in the Bergen County Jail pending an Aug. 28 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack. Overnight Clifton Stolen Car Chase Begins In Lyndhurst, Ends In Hackensack Crash
A Lyndhurst police officer pursued a stolen car through six towns overnight Wednesday before the driver crashed and bailed out in Hackensack. Officer Mark Rivera saw the driver of the silver Ford Focus reported stolen out of Clifton make an improper right turn onto Riverside Avenue from Valley Brook Avenue around 12:30 a.m., Detective Sgt. This isn't the first time John Legend has made a pit-stop for snacks in New Jersey -- this time, it's Union County. Female Paterson police posing as prostitutes bagged 27 johns, while their male colleagues snatched up 14 streetwalkers who offered them sex for money, authorities said. Citizen complaints about an open-air prostitution market drove ABC/Vice unit detectives to work both sides of the street, city Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
