Boil Water Advisory Issued In Parts Of Passaic County Amid Water Main Break
American Water has issued a boil water advisory across parts of Passaic County. The advisory was issued Thursday, Aug. 15 at noon to American Water customers across Little Falls and Woodland Park. The advisory was the result of emergency repairs to a water main break on Notchcroft Drive in the Great Notch area of Little Falls. Any water to used for drinking or cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. Water is okay for bathing, washing, and other common uses. Water Main Break Jams Route 3 Near MetLife Stadium
A water main break certainly didn't ease rush hour traffic along Route 3 in East Rutherford Friday, Feb. 9. The break happened on the eastbound side, east of MetLife Stadium around 5 p.m., the New Jersey DOT website said. Two lanes and the shoulder were closed.

Water Main Break Opens Gaping Hole Off Route 208
A water main break Friday afternoon closed the entrance and exit ramps at a Route 208 interchange in Fair Lawn. The ramps along northbound Route 208 at Berdan Avenue off Plaza Road were affected after the road buckled under the water pressure, leaving a gaping hole, shortly after lunchtime Sept. 8. No vehicle damage or incidents were reported as a result. However, many residents reported brown water coming out of their taps. A water main break in Paramus on Thursday flooded part of Route 4 and closed a busy exit ramp. Construction crews working near the exit ramp for Paramus Road off the westbound highway accidentally punctured the 16-inch main shortly before noon Aug. 17. It unleashed a mini flood that filled the exit with nearly a foot of water and closed Route 4's left lane near the median. ALERT: Water Main Break Closes Major Roadway Near Route 3
A 12-inch water main break temporarily closed a major thoroughfare near Route 3 in Clifton. "Customers in the immediate area may experience low pressure [and] discolored or no water while repairs are made," Bryan Frierson of the Passaic Valley Water Commission said shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16. A massive water main break on the Newark and Belleville border Tuesday, Aug. 9 had lingering impacts as of Wednesday. The 140-year-old pipe in Branch Brook Park broke in two places, and caused a sinkhole to open that swallowed a car, NBC4 reports. Although water has been restored to much of Jersey City and Hoboken after a major water main break, some Jersey City residents remained without water Wednesday -- nearly 16 hours after the Kearny incident. : Emergency Construction Shuts Route 10 Both Ways In Denville
Route 10 will be closed in either direction Friday as a result of a water main break in Denville. On the eastbound side, the roadway is closed between Franklin Road and Mount Pleasant Turnpike, and one lane on the westbound side will be closed, local police said. Police did not have a timeline on the completion of emergency construction.

Mall At Short Hills Evacuated Due To Water Main Break
The Mall at Short Hills was evacuated Monday afternoon due to a water main break underneath the sprawling shopping complex, the business said in a statement. The mall also said it was "assessing" the situation and may reopen later today, but in a subsequent statement said it would remain closed Monday. The mall is expected to reopen on time Tuesday. Students at Clifton High School will be making up for lost time this Saturday. That's right: weekend classes. But only for a few hours. Students were sent home Jan. 11 due to a water main break on the main campus. A half-day session this Saturday, March 17, will help the district reach its 180 days of school, officials announced.
