One Injured In Two-Car Hawthorne Crash
One person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash during the morning rush in Hawthorne. A Volkwagen took down a street sign and hit a light pole Lafayette and Warburton avenues around 8:15 a.m. Both the VW and the Nissan were towed from the scene. Hawthorne police, DPW workers and Volunteer Ambulance Corps members responded, along with an ambulance from the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Police: Hawthorne Driver Rescued From Fiery Wreckage Of Head-On Glen Rock Crash Was Drunk
UPDATE: The trapped Hawthorne driver rescued from his car before the flames of a burning truck could reach him after a head-on crash in Glen Rock over the weekend was drunk, authorities said. Jason A. Bednar, 41, of Hawthorne was saved by a trio of Glen Rock police officers with “complete disregard for their personal safety,” Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Responding police Sgt. A 43-year-old Oradell driver was airlifted to the hospital with a serious head injury following a noontime crash Tuesday in Montvale. : New Valley Hospital Approved In Paramus
The Valley Hospital is one step closer to its new Paramus campus. The borough's Planning Board on Thursday night unanimously approved the seven-story, 362-bed plan for a 40-acre parcel near Winters Avenue, NorthJersey.com reports. The main entrance will be located at Valley Health Plaza and Winters Avenue, across the street from the Luckow Pavilion, Valley's same-day-surgery and comprehensive cancer center. Ramsey Police Officer, Borough EMS Worker Revive Heart Attack Victim, 22, At Gym
A Ramsey police officer and EMS worker revived a 22-year-old who went into cardiac arrest at a local gym on Sunday. Marc Greenwood, a Ramsey Ambulance Corps member and Mahwah police dispatcher, was at Retro Fitness off Route 17 when the victim collapsed, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said. Greenwood, who used to work at the same gym, began CPR. Officer Bryan Stevens arrived soon after and brought the victim back to full consciousness with one shock from a defibrillator, the chief said. Ramsey EMS took him to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

His young daughter cowered in the back seat as a Hindu priest was attacked by a Mahwah man during a road-rage incident in the parking lot of a Route 17 shopping center in Ramsey, according to a police complaint. Pedestrian, 84, Struck In Wyckoff
An 84-year-old Wyckoff woman was hospitalized with injuries that authorities didn't consider life-threatening after she was struck at a busy intersection around noon. The 57-year-old Waldwick driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation after her 2018 Ford Edge struck the victim around 11:50 a.m., Lt. Joseph Soto said. No summonses were immediately issued, he said. The Wyckoff Police Traffic Bureau was investigating. The Wyckoff Ambulance Corps and paramedics from The Valley Hospital responded along with police.

A Jeep remained true to its brand when it landed on its wheels after being T-boned Monday afternoon by a FedEx truck in Ridgewood. A nurse headed to work at an Allendale nursing home escaped with nothing more than an arm injury early Friday after her Jeep tumbled down an embankment and landed on its side in a few inches of water, police said. An unemployed New Milford man was charged with assaulting a 4-month old infant who was unresponsive when rushed to the hospital with head injuries, authorities said.
