Firefighters Contain Vehicle Blaze To Garage Of Bergenfield Home Firefighters contained a Bergenfield car blaze that severely damaged an attached garage Sunday night. The Bogert Place call was quickly upgraded to a second alarm on arrival around 7 p.m., responders said. Firefighters made quick work of it, containing the flames to the garage.  The sedan was totaled. A tow truck was called to remove it. Mutual aid responders included firefighters from Dumont, Englewood, New Milford, Teaneck and Tenafly. Firefighters contained the Bogert Place blaze to the attached garage, with some damage to the exterior of the home.BERGENFIELD FIRE DEPT

The vicitm was headed east on East Clinton Avenue when the Mitsubishi struck the pole between Farview and Old Smith roads at 8:16 a.m., police Capt. Michael deMoncada said. The driver may have suffered a medical episode, although there also was "significant sun glare" on the road at the time, deMoncada said.
