Eight Members Of Violent, Heroin-Dealing 'So Icy Boys' Paterson Gang Sent To Prison
Eight reputed members of the the violent, drug-dealing Paterson East Side “So Icy Boys” set were sentenced to prison terms stemming from a multi-agency law enforcement sweep. The heaviest sentence was given to Shadeik Stratford, 19, who got 10 years in exchange for a guilty plea to attempted murder for shooing a fellow gang member in October 2018. Stratford must serve 8½ years of that term before he'll be eligible for parole. Behind him is Fabian Frater, 29, of Paterson, who got nine years in state prison, more than 7½ years of which he must serve before becoming eligible for parole.…

HIM? Police Looking For Suspect In Montclair Home Invasion
The State Police and the Montclair Police Department are looking for a man who broke into an Upper Montclair home Tuesday. The State Police prepared a composite sketch of the suspect (attached), who entered the home around 1:30 p.m. The suspect encountered someone inside trhe home and fled towards the NJ Transit railroad tracks. One person was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles on the New Jersey Turnpike in Ridgefield Saturday, State Police said in a brief statement. The crash occurred around 2:14 p.m. on the southbound side of the western spur near mile marker 115, not far from the exit for Rt. 3. Two southbound lanes and a northbound lane were closed as of about 5 p.m. The victim was not identified. Man Dies In Fall Off NJ Turnpike In Newark
State Police were investigating the death of a 22-year-old Brooklyn man on the New Jersey Turnpike in Newark Friday night. Many of the circumstances were still under investigation Saturday morning, but according to police, the man was an occupant in a vehicle that had pulled over north of Exit 14 in Newark around 10:15 p.m. The man left the vehicle and was attempting to jump from the cars-only side of the turnpike to the trucks side when he fell about 80 feet to his death, the spokesman said. A State Police sergeant who also owned a Plainfield tax preparation business was sentenced to 30 months in prison for defrauding the IRS and other offenses, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Craig Carpenito said. Samuel Davis Jr., 54, previously pleaded guilty to charges that also included filing false returns and witness tampering. NJ State Police Pull Over Speeding Car, Find Passenger In Labor
Imagine the shock of State Police who chased a speeding car up Route 17, then drew their guns when the driver finally pulled over on a Ridgewood street -- and found a passenger in labor. The brief pursuit began around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the northbound highway. The driver took the Linwood Avenue exit, headed to The Valley Hospital about a half-mile away. Troopers pulled their guns after the driver eventually stopped because they didn't know whether the pair was armed. Once they discovered the circumstances, the troopers provided an escort up Linwood Avenue to the hospital.

A total of 14 people, almost all of them Elizabeth residents, were arrested in a crackdown on convicted sex offenders who failed to comply with reporting requirements under Meghan's Law, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday. North Bergen Woman Found Dead At Jersey Shore: Report
A woman from Hudson County was found dead on a beach in Highlands Sunday morning, News 4 New York reported. Melissa Fries, 37, was reported missing Saturday night after going swimming with friends. State Police, Highland police, the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies joined in a water search for the woman, who was reported missing around 11:15 p.m. An investigation into the precise cause of death was pending an autopsy, but it appears to be accidental, authorities also said.

Police Say Short Hills Man Was Driving At 142 MPH: Report
A man from Short Hills was arrested in New Hampshire for allegedly driving more than 70 mph over the speed limit, The Boston Globe reported. Eric Joseph, 51, was headed home when state police pulled over his 2018 Jeep Cherokee on I-95 Saturday morning. Joseph was traveling at 142 mph, more than double the posted speed limit of 65 mph, according to police. Joseph was charged with reckless operation and is scheduled to appear in court in September.

A tour van operated by a company catering to Polish-Americans that picked up passengers in New Jersey crashed in Massachusetts Saturday, killing two people, State Police there said. Body Of Missing Swimmer At Lake Hopatcong Found
The body of a 32-year-old Parsippany man who was last seen struggling to stay above water at Lake Hopatcong has been recovered, State Police said. Avinash Kuna was found by searchers from the State Police and a T.E.A.M.S. unit at Henderson Cove around 6 p.m. An intensive search began Saturday morning, when Kuna entered the water from a pontoon boat.
