Wayne PD: Suspect, Victim Arrested In Drug-Dispute Stabbing A fight between two Wayne men over drugs left one severely stabbed and both charged, authorities said. Police were called after Asante Cugliari, 23, arrived at the St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital emergency room around 4:30 a.m. Saturday with leg, facial and abdominal wounds that required surgery, Detective Capt. Dan Daly said. Cugliari told them that he and Joseph Derissio, also 23, had gotten into a drug-related argument at a female acquaintance’s home that escalated into a confrontation, Daly said. Worker, Guest Hospitalized In Fire At Wayne Hotel Tied To 9/11 Attacks A worker suffered burns and a guest also was hospitalized with minor injuries in a fire Tuesday night at an infamous hotel on Route 46 in Wayne. The worker was repairing an electrical panel in an area adjacent to a guest room when the fire broke out in the Kings Inn, near the Willowbrook Mall and Routes 23 and 80, shortly after 8 p.m., Wayne Police Detective Capt. Retired Paterson Detective Donald Greenwood Dies, 81 PATERSON, N.J. — Donald Robert Greenwood died Dec. 30 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital. He was 81 years old. Donald lived in Wayne and worked at the Paterson Police Department, retiring as a detective in 1994. He was a parishioner of St. Gerard Majella R.C. Church in Paterson. Donald is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susana (Tiu); children Wendy Garritano, Donald Jr. (wife Evonne), Daniel (wife Casey) and Darren (fiancee Cara); grandchildren Violet, Domenic, Emma, Wesley and Evangeline.
