A drowning teen from Rockland was resuscitated by Mahwah police after his friends pulled him from a lake in the Ramapo mountains, authorities said. The 17-year-old Spring Valley boy was surrounded by his friends when Mahwah Police Officers Nicholas Williams, Ryan Moore, Connor Gilgen, Luke Rice and Liam Kantanas reached the upper lake at the Ramapo Reservation around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, Capt. An 18-year-old roofer from Rockland remained in critical condition Tuesday after falling off a Teaneck home the night before. Responding Teaneck police officers found the victim unresponsive but breathing outside the Maple Street home behind Angelo’s Pizza on Queen Anne Road at 6:45 p.m. Monday, May 15, Police Chief Andrew McGurr said. A woman with a wheeled walker who was struck and killed by a commuter train in Westwood was identified as an 88-year-old local resident. Cecile L. Wanted Spring Valley Man Nabbed In New Jersey
A 31-year-old Rockland man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop in New Jersey, authorities said Friday. Mario McIntyre of Spring Valley was stopped by police in Fair Lawn, NJ, before dawn on March 14 because of a defective problem with his lights, authorities said. A computer check turned up a warrant out of the Passaic County, NJ town of Hawthorne, Fair Lawn Sgt. Brian Metzler said. McIntyre was issued a summons for improper maintenance of vehicle lamps and released after posting bail on the outstanding warrant, the sergeant said.
