Second Victim In Double Fatal NJ Turnpike Crash ID'd
Police have identified both victims killed last week in a crash on the NJ Turnpike.Seyed Tarighati, 69, of Yonkers, the driver, and his passenger, Robert Birnbaum, 85, of Scarsdale, both died in the crash Friday, Aug. 19 during afternoon rush hour, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said.

A 37-year-old Bergen County man once charged for stalking a doctor at a local abortion clinic was arrested again on similar accusations -- this time for pushing a volunteer and then trying to stop a couple from seeking services, officials said.
Daniel Courney, of Bergenfield, was charged by complaint with two counts of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which protects individuals seeking and providing reproductive health services, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.

84 Busted In Paterson Drug Sweep, 930 Heroin Bags, 259 Crack Vials Seized
A staggering 84 people were arrested in a multi-pronged Paterson drug sweep prompted by citizens’ complaints.
City Narcotics Division detectives led the Auburn Street initiative, which turned up 930 glassine envelopes of heroin, 259 vials of crack and five ounces of cocaine, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
They also seized more than $1,900 in drug proceeds, Speziale said.
The sweep focused on both dealers and buyers in “a well-known location where many drug arrests have occurred,” the director said.
