Firefighters Douse Rutherford Basement Blaze Firefighters doused a smoky house blaze that began in the basement of a Rutherford home. No one was injured in the fire, which broke out in the two-story, two-family house on Springfield Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9. It was knocked down and brought under control within an hour, responders at the scene said. Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from East Rutherford and Wallington. Rutherford Man, 34, Expecting Sex With 14-Year-Old Busted In Sting: Bergen Prosecutor An unemployed Rutherford man who authorities said headed to Paramus expecting sex with an underage boy was instead arrested by Bergen County prosecutor’s detectives. Sean Dynan, 34, “engaged in sexually explicit dialogue” with Cyber Crimes Unit investigators before arranging the meeting, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Next thing he knew, he was in handcuffs. Dynan was charged with luring and child endangerment and sent to the Bergen County Jail on Wednesday, March 29. He remained there Sunday pending court action.

It was just after 4:30 a.m. and there weren’t many other drivers out on the road in Rutherford. Carmeci, of North Bergen, pulled to the shoulder, donned his safety vest and headed 60 yards or so into the meadows off the highway. There he found a 2001 Mazda MX-5 convertible that rolled off the ramp and landed on its roof. Rutherford Resident Accused Of Brandishing Gun A tax consultant from Rutherford was arrested for pointing a loaded gun during a dispute, authorities said. Gerard Losardo, 35, remained held in the Bergen County Jail on Monday, March 13, records show. He was seized at his home without incident on Friday after allegedly brandishing a legally registered .40-caliber handgun that night, Rutherford Deputy Police Chief Sean Farrell said. The 6-foot-6, 330-pound Losardo is charged with aggravated assault, criminal restraint, simple assault, making terroristic threats and a weapons offense.
