Unlicensed Driver, 25, Wanted In Deadly Fourth Of July Crash On Route 287: Prosecutor
A 25-year-old New York woman has been named "Fugitive of the Month" in one New Jersey county. Angely Betancourt has been charged with reckless death by auto and causing death while driving unlicensed in the July 4, 2022 crash that left one person dead on Route 287 southbound access ramp to Route 78 west in Bedminster, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The crash, which happened just before 12:25 p.m., was investigated by New Jersey State Police. The department did not immediately return Daily Voice's request for comment.

A 60-year-old Orange man has been missing since he worked a shift at Whole Foods Market on Sunday, April 21. Rousier Romain did not return home after he left his shift abruptly at the Whole Foods in Vauxhall, Township of Union police said. The latest forecast has increased the amount of snow in what's expected to be the first winter storm headed to the region Monday, Feb. 27. 27-Year-Old Man Killed In Route 78 Crash
A 27-year-old man from Hillsborough died in a crash on Route 78 Monday, Feb. 13, authorities said. Sebastian Hofmann was heading east in a Dodge pickup truck when he struck a Tesla around 10:10 p.m. in Warren Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The Tesla crossed the roadway to the left and struck a metal guardrail in impact while the Dodge ran off the road to the left and struck several trees and overturned. Hofmann was ejected and killed. Driver Airlifted When Tractor Trailer Overturns On Route 78
The driver of a tractor trailer was airlifted to the hospital after he lost control of his tractor trailer overturned on Route 78 earlier this week. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle on the westbound side near milepost 28.5 in Bedminster around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Despite suffering only minor injuries, the driver was flown to Morristown Medical Center, Curry said. The right and center lanes of the highway were closed for five hours. A man walking along Route 78 in Union County suffered a broken leg after being hit by a car Thursday night.
